MAS DOMNIK ~ Dominica's Carnival Celebrations
Carnival in Dominica kicks off in January with the Official Opening Parade. Followed by Queen Pageants, Calypso Competitions, and many other activities - all culminating in two days of Jump Up on February 8th & 9th 2016.
TS ERIKA RECOVERY (Update 16-Nov-15)
Dominica suffered great loss when Tropical Storm Erika passed over the island on the 26th Augus 2015. Great efforts have been made to help all those who have suffered. Dominica's road to recovery continues. Several villages and communities are still enduring incredible challenges, but repair work is progessing.
Visitors are welcome and are asked to use Tour Guides when visiting the island's attractions. Make sure you have up-to-the-minute information when making your plans!
DOMINICA'S INDEPENDENCE SEASON 2015
During the month of October, Dominica bursts with culture & heritage: traditional creole dress, cultural dancing competitions, drumming and pan, and many local exhibitions -- all leading up to Independence Day on November 3rd. This year marked Dominica's 37th anniversary.
